Appellant Teresa Edwards, a domestic violence victim, sued the Lexington County Sheriffs Department and the County of Lexington (collectively, Respondents) 1 after she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Allen Baker, in a magistrate’s court bond revocation hearing where no security was provided. The bond revocation hearing was scheduled at the request of an employee of the Lexington County Sheriffs Department who was aware of Baker’s multiple bond violations and his continuing threats against Edwards.
