During the year 1938, David Barlia was in the employ of Northwest Metal Products, Inc., a corporation engaged in business in the city of Seattle. February 23,1939, Barlia filed with the department of labor and industries a claim in which he stated that, during the summer of 1938, and while in the employ of the company above named, he commenced to suffer from pain in the pit of his stomach, which pain he noticed after working several days at a pipe rolling machine.
