OPINION

RICHARD BARAJAS, Chief Justice.

This is an appeal from an order granting mandamus relief. For the reasons explained below, we reverse and remand with instructions that the trial court withdraw the order granting mandamus and enter an order denying such relief.

I. SUMMARY OF THE EVIDENCE

Tommy Jones was employed as a deputy sheriff for the Crane County Sheriffs Department from February 15, 1985 to December 31, 1992. While he served in that capacity, he accrued 86 days of sick leave.
