On November 15, 1933, the People of the State of Illinois, upon the relation of Ernest Palmer, director of insurance, by the Attorney General filed a verified complaint in the circuit court of Peoria county for the purpose of liquidating the Peoria Life Insurance Company, which was alleged to be insolvent. The defendant Life Insurance Company entered its appearance in that proceeding and a decree was rendered finding that the capital stock of defendant was wholly impaired, that sufficient cause -existed for the appointment of a receiver and provided that when the receiver was appointed he…
