This case has been presented to us as if the main question on the record was, whether a blank negotiable note which has been indorsed in blank by a person for one purpose, can be filled up by the maker without the consent of the indorser by inserting the name of another person as payee, to whose order it is made payable, and passed off to such payee for another purpose, so as to make the indorser liable to such payee.
