A Burger King manager refused to let employee Zohreh Miraliakbari leave or even use the telephone to care for her six-year-old son who suffered a broken bone at school. Miraliakbari brought claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment against Burger King and the manager, Rita Pennicooke. She also brought a claim, as next friend, on behalf of her son.
