This is a suit to enforce the alleged rights of one partner against another as joint adventurers in the development of an oil field, and was instituted in the Chancery Court of Jefferson County by the appellant William R. McCartney against the appellee Charles S. McKendrick. The defendant McKendrick is a nonresident living in New Orleans, Louisiana, and there was named as garnishee in the suit the Ashland Oil & Refining Company, which, on August 12, 1953, according to its answer as garnishee, had on hand the net sum of $170,-728.43, derived from oil production, one-half of which is claimed by…
