On December 2, 1978, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Montgomery Police Officer J.G. Laing, along with several members of the Montgomery Police Department's narcotics detail and two Montgomery County deputy sheriffs, executed a search warrant on the residence of the appellant at 455-A Lanier Court, Montgomery, Alabama.
