This Indian trust case has been brought by approximately 20,750 individuals claiming descent from persons who were members of the Mdewakanton band of Sioux Indians and who assisted white settlers in Minnesota during the 1862 Sioux uprising (“the loyal Mdewakanton”). See Wolfchild v.
