Pursuant to section 3 — 114.1 of the Illinois Pension Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 108x/2, par. 3 — 114.1), the plaintiff, Paul Polk, requested a line-of-duty, or 65%, pension from one defendant, the Board of Trustees of the Police Pension Fund of the City of Park Ridge (the Board). After a hearing, the Board denied his request, but granted Polk a 50% non-duty pension. Polk filed a complaint for administrative review in the circuit court, and the trial judge affirmed the Board decision.
