On January 24, 2018, Marie Barbour ("Barbour" or "plaintiff") filed a complaint against Fidelity Life Association ("Fidelity Life" or "defendant") in Johnston County Superior Court for breach of contract and violations of North Carolina's Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act ("UDTPA"), N.C.
