OPINION

ANDERSON, Justice.

Defendant, Thomas Joseph Bookwalter, was charged by complaint with seven criminal offenses. He pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, kidnapping, and theft of a motor vehicle. After a trial, the jury returned a verdict finding Bookwalter guilty of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, aggravated robbery and simple robbery.
