Appellant Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Inc. (the “Livestock Show”) appeals from a judgment awarding appellees Leslie Hamrick and her parents, T.L. Hamrick and Connie Hamrick; Jimmy Barton and his parents, Craig Barton and Jacque Barton; and Kevin Copeland, 1 damages for violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (“DTPA”), Tex. Bus. & Com. Code Ann. §§ 17.41-.63 (West 2002); mental anguish; loss of reputation; defamation; attorney’s fees; and as to Leslie Hamrick, loss of prize money.
