In January, 1904, the Mayor and Council of the City of Gainesville awarded to a publishing company, a private corporation, the contract for the printing for the city for the year 1904. At the time this was done, one of the members of the city council owned some stock in the publishing company. This stock he disposed of and had transferred to another in May of the same year.
