A. H. Ewing’s Sons, Incorporated, filed a motion for judgment against the City of Richmond in the court below claiming damages for the alleged breach by the city of a contract which the parties had entered into for the construction of a juvenile detention home on a site owned by the city. After the city had filed its grounds of defense the case was heard by the court without a jury and resulted in a judgment in favor of the plaintiff against the city for the sum of $47,393, with interest.
