I. Certain motions have been filed in this cause and ordered submitted with the case.

On September 3, 1929, the respondent judge entered an order in the district court of Union County, Iowa, punishing the petitioner for contempt for failing to pay an award of alimony which had been entered against petitioner in a divorce action. Application was made to a justice of this court for a writ of certiorari, and an order was entered under which said writ was issued from this court on September 9, 1929.
