This is an application by the twenty-two appellees, former employees of the American Can Company, for unemployment compensation. The appellees were thrown out of work when the company permanently shut down and discontinued its Fort Smith plant in November, 1958. Under the collective bargaining agreement between the company and its employees all of the appellees received substantial lump sum severance payments in connection with the termination of their employment.
