The principal issue in this appeal is the propriety of the trial court’s instructions to, and inquiries of, prospective jurors prior to the commencement of individual voir dire. After a jury trial, the defendant, Nathaniel Faust, was convicted of rioting at a correctional institution in violation of General Statutes § 53a-179b.1 After denying the defendant’s motion for judgment of acquittal, the trial court rendered judgment on the jury verdict.
