Questions involving the construction of the Act of September 7, 1949, 63 Stat. 686, codified at 18 U.S.C. §§ 4244-4248 (Chapter 313) are raised by the appellant, who after arrest but prior to sentence on a charge of murder on lands under the exclusive jurisdiction of the United States 1 was found by the trial court to be so mentally incompetent that he could not stand trial and that if released he probably would endanger the safety of officers, property, or the other interests of the United States.
