Ford Motor Company (“Ford”) appeals a wrongful death judgment in this case involving a chain collision that resulted in the deaths of John Mathes’s son and parents. Mathes claimed that the defective design of decedents’ Ford F-150 pickup truck, and more specifically the fuel tank system, caused their deaths by fire. Ford asserts four points of error: (1) Mathes failed to make a submissible case, because no substantial evidence showed that the alleged product defects in the F-150 caused the deaths; (2) the jury instruc tions failed to use a general verdict form,…
