Kirk Dixon, a Florida prisoner proceeding pro se , appeals from the District Court's grant of a motion to dismiss his civil rights complaint (filed pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 ) for lack of subject matter jurisdiction under Heck v. Humphrey , 512 U.S. 477 , 114 S.Ct. 2364 , 129 L.Ed.2d 383 (1994). The Heck rule, as extended by Edwards v.
