Plaintiff is the mortgagee-trustee in a chattel mortgage dated January 29, 1927, covering personal property located in an apartment building in the city of Detroit. Both the building and the personal property were owned by the Chippewa Apartment Company, a Michigan corporation. The building was known as the Parkhurst Apartments. The defendant city assessed this personal property in the name of the Parkhurst Apartments.
