Mr. PRESIDING JUSTICE CRAVEN

delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant was indicted for murder on May 28,1975, and convicted at a bench trial of the lesser included offense of voluntary manslaughter on July 9,1975. After a motion for probation was denied on July 23,1975, he was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 2 nor more than 20 years. Defendant’s motion for a new trial was denied on August 7, 1975, and he filed a notice of appeal the same day.
