Stripped of all -the circumstances not necessary to an understanding of the legal questions involved, the facts in this1 case are the following:

*363The Marquette & Pacific Bolling Mill Company is a manufacturing corporation, having its field of operations- and its principal office in Marquette county. Its president resides in the county of Wayne. The relator claims to have a demand against the company for labor performed for it.
