The plaintiff, Bertha Stunner, the beneficiary named in a policy issued by the defendant on the life of William Joseph Sturmer, her husband, brought this action to recover the sum of $2,500, the amount named in the policy of insurance.

The policy was issued by the defendant to Stringer Bros. Co., Inc., for the benefit of the employees of that company and is what is known as a group life insurance policy.
