BOWMAN, Circuit Judge.
Appellant Jerry 0. Smith brought suit against the City of Des Moines, claiming that he was fired from his position as a city firefighter in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 621-634 (1994), and the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), 42 *1468U.S.C. §§ 12101-12213 (1994). The District Court1 granted summary judgment in favor of the city on all of Smith’s claims. Smith appeals, and we affirm.
