Albert Palladino and his wife sued Piedmont Hospital (Piedmont) and its employee, Arthur Patterson, and asserted claims for assault, battery and loss of consortium arising out of Patterson’s allegedly improper touching of Palladino’s genitals while Palladino was a patient at Piedmont. The Palladinos also asserted claims against Piedmont for negligent hiring and negligent supervision.
