Defendant, a Caucasian,'was convicted of thé'first degree murder of State Trooper Anthony Lukis and sentenced to death. He appeals under R. R. 1:2-1 (c). At trial, defendant produced no witnesses, relying on his assertion that the State had failed to produce sufficient evidence upon which a guilty verdict could be based. In-addition to the brief filed, by defendant’s court appointed counsel, defendant filed a supplemental pro se brief.
