This is a diversity action for breach of contract. Most of the events giving rise to this litigation occurred in Illinois and we accept the parties’ assumption that Illinois law is applicable. The action below was tried before a jury which returned a verdict in the amount of $600,000, having found that a contract for the purchase of barge scrap steel existed between plaintiff, Luria Brothers & Co., Inc.
