Appeal by the petitioner, Henry II. Lyman, from an order of the Supreme Court, made at the New York Special Term and entered in the office of the clerk of the county of New York on the 13th day of December, 1897, denying the petitioner’s application for the revocation and cancellation of the liquor tax certificate granted to the Young Men’s Cosmopolitan Club of New York.

On the 26th of April, 1897, there was presented to the Special Deputy'Commissioner of Excise for the county of New York an application of the Young Men’s Cosmopolitan Club of New York, by Charles Smith, its president, for a liquor tax certificate under the provisions of the Liquor Tax Law (Chap, 112, Laws of 1896). Upon that application, which was-in proper form, a-liquor tax certificate was granted.
