This case involves an alleged prescription-switching scheme in which defendant Par Pharmaceutical Companies allegedly caused pharmacies to submit false claims to avoid Medicaid reimbursement caps, resulting in overpayment by the federal and various state governments.1 The claims are brought as a qhi tarn action under the federal False Claims Act, 31 U.S.C. § 3729 et seq.
