The defendant was tried and convicted on an indictment charging him with three counts of felony. The first count alleged a violation of Penal Code, section 448a, arson, for the wilful and unlawful burning of a warehouse at 1225 Spring Street, Redwood City. The second count charged a violation of Penal Code, section 548, the burning of goods at 1225 Spring Street in Redwood City with intent to defraud and prejudice the insurer.
