These are eight actions of tort, four brought against one Bolieau, and four brought against his alleged master, the defendant town, to recover damages for bodily injuries sustained while the several plaintiffs were returning from working as laborers employed by the Federal Works Progress Administration, commonly called the W. P. A., upon a project of improvement of a road leading to the town’s water pumping station. The work was being done under a contract between the town and the W. P.
