Jeffrey and Linda Richards, for themselves and on behalf of their daughter Michelle (collectively known hereafter as Richards), sought damages in a malpractice action against their former family physician, Dr. Haeg, and from The Overlake Hospital High Risk Team physicians, Drs. Joneschild, Lux, and Pollack. Richards *268alleged the defendants were negligent in the care of their newborn daughter which resulted in severe neurological deficits.
