This is a writ of error to the Branch Appellate Court for the First District. The case was heard there on appeal from the circuit court of Cook county. The action was by plaintiff in error against defendant in error for the loss of his right hand, alleged to have been caused through the negligence of employees of the defendant. The plea was the general issue. Upon the trial, at the conclusion of all the evidence, the jury, in obedience to an instruction in writing by the court, returned a verdict for the defendant. A motion by the plaintiff for a new trial was overruled and judgment entered…
