Appeal from the St. Charles Circuit Court. — Hon. E. M. Hughes, Judge. The evidence shows that the ordinance extending the city limits was unreasonable and oppressive, and that it was entirely proper to hold it invalid on that ground. Kelley v. Meeks, '87 Mo. 401; Corrigan v. Cage, 68 Id. 544; St. Louis v. Weber, 44 Id. 547; City v. Telephone Co., 21 Mo. App. 23. A volunteer election could confer no authority on the mayor and council to extend the limits.

The plaintiff by her petition prayed that the defendant, as collector of the city of St. *540Charles, be enjoined from collecting tax bills which had been issued against her by the city and placed in the hands of defendant for collection, amounting to $690.48.
