John Williams brought suit to recover land against Mrs. W. C. Bosette Jr., and others, alleging that plaintiff’s father was the owner of the land at the time of his death on January 10, 1918, when the plaintiff was seventeen years old, he being the only minor child surviving at the time of his father’s death. The father left a widow, Esther Williams, who was his second wife and the plaintiff’s stepmother. On January 31, 1919, the widow filed her application to have the land in question set apart to her as a year’s support. The appraisers appointed by the court set apart the land to the widow…
