For the killing of John Mason, Odell Collett was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to the State Reformatory for a term of 7 years. He has appealed from the judgment.
In the late afternoon or evening of October 1, 1942, Jesse Jones, who was City Clerk of Pineville, obtained a warrant for the arrest of John Mason and Silas Slusher, night chief of police and night patrolman, re spectively, of the City of Pineville.
