We are asked in this juvenile court proceeding to determine whether a juvenile court properly may dismiss a delinquency petition after adjudicating the petition and finding the youth to be within the court’s jurisdiction, when the petition alleges conduct that, under another statute, cannot be expunged from the youth’s juvenile record. The Court of Appeals held that a juvenile court could not do so. State ex rel Juv. Dept. v. Dreyer, 149 Or App 775, 945 P2d 97 (1997).
