This case tests the line between the workers’ compensation rights of an employee injured on a job in Massachusetts and the immunity from tort suit provided to the injured employee’s employer by the same Massachusetts workers’ compensation law that benefitted the injured employee, where the employer has participated in a series of mergers during which the employee’s job status remained unaffected.
