OPINION BY

KELLY, J.:

¶ 1 Appellant files this pro se appeal from the judgment of sentence entered June 2, 2006, in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, following a violation of probation (VOP) hearing. 1 We hold that a defendant who seeks to retain private counsel must receive proper notice of the date by which counsel must enter his appearance. Accordingly, we vacate and remand.
