After the State filed a petition for adjudication of wardship against the minor-respondent predicated upon his alleged commission of aggravated battery, the trial judge granted the respondent’s motion to suppress both the gun allegedly used in the crime and his confession. The State now appeals that ruling, which was based on a finding that the police failed to give the respondent his Miranda warnings prior to a custodial interrogation.
