The appellant, Thomas R. Vandegrift, timely appeals a final judgment dissolving his marriage with Mary P. Vandegrift, which granted certain special equities in the marital home to the wife. The facts are essentially undisputed. The parties were married to each other on October 10, 1979, at which time Thomas had two minor children from a prior marriage, and Mary had three children from a prior marriage. Both parties owned their own homes before the marriage, with Thomas owning his home free and clear, and Mary having a small mortgage with monthly payments of $78.00 on her…
