This is a petition for a writ of mandamus to command the respondents, selectmen of the town of Webster, to recognize the petitioner as a member of the board of public welfare of that town, to refrain from intruding themselves as members of the board of public welfare and from interfering in any manner with the discharge of the duties of that office by the petitioner and to deliver up books of record and other property belonging to said board.
