Appellee, while walking upon a sidewalk on one of the streets of appellant with her husband, on the afternoon of October 24, 1897, was tripped, by.a loose board in the walk upon which the latter stepped, and thrown to the ground, receiving an injury to her knee. She claimed that she was seriously and permanently injured by the fall and brought suit against the city for damages therefor. Upon trial the jury gave her a verdict for $600, for which amount judgment was entered.
