This case presents two questions: (1) whether the Legal Aid Society of Orange County (“Legal Aid”) is a state actor amenable to suit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (“ § 1983”); and (2) whether, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in Reeves v. Sanderson Plumbing Products, Inc., 530 U.S. 133, 120 S.Ct. 2097, 147 L.Ed.2d 105 (2000), a district court still may grant a defendant’s motion for summary judgment on a claim under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), 29 U.S.C. §§ 621 et seq., when a plaintiff has established a prima facie case of…
