This is an original proceeding in mandamus 1 to require defendant to grant plaintiff a trial de novo of her conviction for violating a city of Detroit ordinance. The complaint also requests this Court to declare that the commission of an ordinance violation is a crime and that the 1963 Michigan Constitution guarantees a right of appeal which is not discretionary with the judges of the circuit court.
