Appeal from an order and judgment of the Supreme Court (Kahn, J.), entered September 6, 1989 in Albany County, upon a verdict rendered in favor of defendants.

Plaintiff sought to recover from defendants for damages sustained to his office building and its contents due to a fire which occurred on March 13, 1987. Defendants rejected plaintiff’s claim on the ground that he had willfully concealed or misrepresented material facts and had increased the fire hazard by means within his control in violation of the insurance policies, thus voiding defendants’ coverage.
