MEMORANDUM
COBB, District Judge.
Pursuant to § 205(g) of the Social Security Act, as amended, 42 U.S.C.Supp. § 405(g), this action requests judicial review of a final decision of the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration. The Commissioner denied the plaintiffs claim for child insurance benefits after the demise of one of the child’s life-long caretakers, Sam Reed, Jr., on March 29,1988.
The sole issue that the court considers today is whether or not the defendant’s decision is supported by substantial evidence and whether or not an incorrect standard was *467utilized by the defendant in…
