MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

PRATT, District Judge.

Plaintiff Douglas D. Thompson filed the present action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (“RLUIPA”), 42 U.S.C. § 2000cc, seeking to be provided with kosher meals for the duration of his civil commitment in the custody of the Iowa Department of Human Services (“DHS”). Plaintiff Thompson has been civilly committed to the DHS Civil Commitment Unit for Sexual Offenders (“CCUSO”) under Chapter 229A of the Iowa Code.
